A 12% room/sales tax is included in all room rates.

We give a 10% discount to AARP members, AAA members, active military and State of Alaska employees.

A $50 security deposit is required for all walk-up guests paying in cash and will be refunded at check-out if there is no room damage or underpayment. One dog or cat is allowed. There is an additional $50 non-refundable deposit required for your pet.

The Alaskan Hotel was built in 1913 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. We are not handicapped accessible and there are no elevators. Rooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.

We are located in the center of downtown Juneau. Shopping, tours, the city & state museums, bars & restaurants and historical sites (including the Alaskan hotel itself) are all within easy walking distance.

Parking, if needed, is available behind the hotel on Gastineau Avenue. The Alaskan Hotel also has limited parking behind the building, when available. Public parking garages are approximately 2 blocks from the Alaskan Hotel. Limited parking is also available on nearby side streets depending on the day-of-week and time. Please notice posted parking signs along these streets.

Transportation from the airport is available via Taxi (approx. $25) or our city buses which run to the airport hourly from 9 am to 9 pm. Transportation from the ferry dock is via taxi (approx. $45) or by using a combination of taxi and bus service (approx. $20).

Luggage storage is available at the hotel between check out and your departure for the airport or ferry.

Hotel Policy

We do not charge your credit card until you arrive for your stay. You may cancel your reservation by phone (1-800-327-9347), email ( or on-line (if you made your reservation on-line). Reservations must be cancelled at least 1 day prior to your stay. If the reservation is not cancelled at least 1 day prior to your stay, your credit card will be charged for 1 nights stay for each room reserved.

Alaskan Gear Policy

We offer a 7 day money back guarantee on all our t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats and glasswear. Please call us at 907-586-1000 in advance to obtain return permission. All refunds will be provided as a credit to the credit card used at the time of purchase within 5 business days upon receipt of the returned merchandise. Return shipping is at the customers expense and no shipping charges are refundable.
